History

Sicilia D’Oro, literally translated as Golden Sicily, was born when Vito, a native of Sicily, arrived in Brooklyn, New York in 1968. In Sicily, he dreamed of opening his own pizzeria and with the help of his father and brother, his dream became a reality when he set foot on the “land of opportunity.”

Through many years of hard work and dedication, Vito and his wife Judi gradually opened four other successful pizzerias until they decided to sell them and focus exclusively on opening their restaurant. Sicilia D’Oro Family Restaurant has been serving the finest Italian food to the local community ever since.

Service

Sicilia D’Oro Family Restaurant is not a chain. We have one store, which is still family-run. We are very proud and privileged to say that many of our staff have been with us since we first opened our doors 20 years ago. Knowing this, it does not sound clichéd to say that the staff are considered as an extension of the family.

The customer service we deliver is unrivalled. With the experience garnered from being in the industry and community so long, we know our customers so well, that many of our customers consider Sicilia D’Oro as an extension of their home kitchens and the staff as friends.

Food

At Sicilia D’Oro, we combine old Italian favorites with traditional family recipes. The dishes served on “Sicilian Night” for example are based on Zia Francesca’s own personal recipes, which date back over 80 years.

Some of our house specialties include:

  • Linguini Siclia D’Oro – Linguini with Shrimp, Prosciutto, Peas and Cream Sauce
  • Chicken Della Casa – Ham, Mozzarella and Tomato Sauce
  • Veal Sicilia D’Oro - Eggplant, Tomato Sauce, Mushrooms, Mozzarella and Marsala Sauce
Sicilia D’Oro Has The Best Pizza This Side of Sicily. Every pizzeria thinks they make the best pizza, but they do not hold a candle to ours. There are three components to making a great pizza and we have the best of all three.

  • Dough –Vito’s secret recipe for our dough, with the perfect blending of herbs and spices, makes the ultimate thin, tasty base for our pizza.
  • Pizza Sauce – After 41 years, our pizza sauce is still made by Vito’s own hands. Another of Vito’s secret recipes, our pizza sauce blends herbs, spices and tomatoes to produce the most delicious sauce.
  • Cheese – We use the best cheese available on the market. This vital ingredient can not be compromised and won’t ever be at Sicilia D’Oro.
